Oilers split first two lacrosse matches
The Huntington Beach High lacrosse team split its first two matches of the 2008 prep lacrosse season in recent road action in south Orange County.
Last Friday, the Oilers fell to host Mission Viejo, 15-8. Nick Refice scored four goals to lead the Huntington offense.
Kyle Peterson added three goals and had two assists and Liam Powers scored once.
Oilers freshman goalie Kevin Shepley registered 12 saves.
Huntington began the season on Feb. 26 with an 8-4 victory over host Capistrano Valley in the first game for Dave Harvericak as the Oilers’ head coach.
Refice again paced the offensive attack with four goals. Peterson had a goal and assist, both Andrew Jackson and Patrick Soriano had a goal, Powers had two assists and Shayne Thomas had one assist.
