LONG BEACH — UC Irvine sophomore Lyndsay DePaul set a meet and school record with her NCAA ‘A’ cut time of 4 minutes, 11.68 seconds to win the 400-yard women’s individual medley to highlight Anteaters swimmers in Day 3 of the conference finals Friday at Belmont Plaza Pool.
UCI senior Chelsea Nagata won the women’s 100 butterfly with an NCAA ’A’ cut time of 53.20, her fourth conference title in that event. Nagata also won the 100 backstroke with an ’A’ cut time of 54.14, a school record.
UCI senior diver Jackie Jones won the three-meter women’s title for the fourth straight season with a score of 286.94.
On the men’s side, senior Eddie Erazo won the 100 fly with a NCAA ’B’ cut time of 47.60. Erazo also won the 100 back in 47.98, a meet-record.
The UCI women are second and the men are third heading into today’s final day of competition.
Sophomore Chris Rosales was fourth in the men’s 400 IM (4:02.21) and fourth in the 100 breaststroke (56.71).
UCI’s Tanya Nielson was sixth in the 200 free (1:51.85).

COSTA MESA — Sophomore Courtney Ford scored 37 points, one shy of her career high, to help the Pirates overcome a 38-30 halftime deficit and close out their regular season on a positive note against the Orange Empire Conference visitors.
Ford was 16 of 29 from the field and four of four from the free-throw line. The likely two-time conference Player of the Year also led the repeat conference champions (29-3, 13-1 in conference) with 12 rebounds, eight assists and six assists.
OCC is ranked No. 3 in Southern California, No. 5 in the state.

COSTA MESA — Freshman Brian Helmuth led the Pirates with 20 points in their Orange Empire Conference and season finale Friday night.
Sophomores Shaun Engle (14), Brian Gee (10) and Nicholas Milan (10) scored in double figures in their final community college game to help the Pirates finish 9-20, 4-8 in conference.

IRVINE — Senior Jessica Lewis and junior Sarah Frost scored two goals apiece to lead the No. 10-ranked hosts in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game Friday.
UCI improved to 5-3, 1-2 in conference, while No. 13-ranked UCSB fell to 4-4, 0-2.
