Be a reporter for the Daily Pilot
Become a community correspondent. We urge you to visit the new page we have launched on the Daily Pilot website called TownHall that will be the home of citizen journalism and reporting from Newport-Mesa community members. The TownHall page can be found by going to www.dailypilot.com/townhall .
This page will feature news stories, photos and events generated by community correspondents and submitted directly onto our online newspaper and published in the community or town the story originated in. This information will then be considered for publication in the print edition.
If you have an event that the newspaper staff can’t cover, now you can write the story yourself and submit it to the newspaper complete with photos. Speaking of photos, if you don’t have a story to share but have a news photo that you’d like published, it can be sent to us using the Pilot Paparazzi feature that is part of the TownHall page.
Calendar events can also be submitted directly on this TownHall page and will appear both online and in print.
While we will still be covering news and events with our team of staff writers, photographers and editors, it is our hope that you will take this opportunity to be a part of our news gathering operation and play a big role in producing a newspaper that is written for and by the community.
Get started right away. Go to www.dailypilot.com/townhall submit your story, photo or event now.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to drop me a line either by phone or email.
