2 booze vendors busted

Two employees of local businesses were issued citations in an undercover sting operation targeting alcoholic beverage sales to minors.

The operation was conducted at 24 city businesses. Twenty-two of the businesses checked the identification of a decoy “” a minor working with police in the sting operation “” and did not sell alcohol.

Citations were issued to Michael Witkowski, 45, of Laguna Beach, who works at Mosun, 680 S. Coast Hwy.; and to Shane Agee, 34, of Costa Mesa, an employee at Bounce, 1460 S. Coast Hwy.

This violation is a misdemeanor.

It is illegal in California to sell any person younger than 21 an alcoholic beverage. It is also illegal for any person younger than 21 to possess any type of alcoholic beverage.

Costs associated with the ABC Minor Decoy Operation are paid for by a grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
