Global executive to speak about strategic innovation
Rick Rayson, the Orange County managing partner of the professional services firm Deloitte & Touche, is scheduled to headline the Distinguished Speakers Series at UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business Tuesday.
Rayson has worked for 27 years at Deloitte & Touche, an international firm that provides audits, tax services, consulting and financial advice.
His speech is titled “Strategic Innovation at Deloitte†and touches on his firm’s efforts to expand in other countries.
“The topic of Rick’s speech dovetails with the Merage School’s theme of sustainable growth through global strategic innovation,†Andy Policano, the dean of the Merage School, said in a release. “We are delighted that Rick and other executives of his caliber are part of the Merage School’s research and outreach to the community.â€
Rayson is scheduled to speak at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center at West Peltason and Pereira drives.
Admission to each of the speeches is $50 for the general public, $25 for Merage School alumni, and free for UCI students, faculty and staff. Call (949) 824-2728 for more information.

Fashion Island boutique to benefit Heart Assn.
Charriol, a boutique near the carousel at Fashion Island, plans to host a Valentine’s event Tuesday to benefit the Orange County American Heart Assn.
During the store’s open hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., a portion of proceeds from all sales will go to the association.
