SANTA CLARITA — Senior Greg Gusiff scored 32 points to lead the Lions in their Golden State Athletic Conference game Saturday night.
Gusiff knocked down six of 11 three-pointers, while senior Brian Roberts, who came off the bench to score 18, was five for five from three-point range.
Senior Arvydas Vaitiekus scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and sophomore Greg Scott had 13 points and 14 assists. Sophomore Dennis Heenan (13 points), senior De’Auonte’ Johnson (10 points, 11 rebounds) and senior Brandon Henderson (10 points) were also in double-digit scoring for the Lions (14-7, 8-5 in conference).

IRVINE — Junior forward Kelly Cochran scored a career-high 24 points to go with 10 rebounds in the ’Eaters’ Big West Conference game Saturday at UCI.
The 24 points is the most scored by a UC Irvine player this season.
Senior post Stephanie Duda added 19 points and 14 rebounds for UCI (6-18, 2-8 in conference), her 14th double-double of the year.

Inna Agababian and Jessica Broadfoot won their doubles match, then each won singles matches for No. 36-ranked UCI (1-3, 1-0 in conference). Clare Fermin and Brooke Bartlett also won singles matches.

LA JOLLA — UC Irvine won twice at the tournament, defeating Brown, 17-9, and then taking out Long Beach State, 7-4, on Saturday.
Juniors Gianna Rossi and Sarah Frost, as well as senior Jessica Lewis each scored three goals for the No. 9-ranked Anteaters (3-0) against Brown..

UCI, the winner of its four-team group, will play against Loyola Marymount in a semifinal today at 11:45 a.m.

SANTA CLARITA — The Lions were swept in their Golden State Athletic Conference-opening doubleheader Saturday at The Master’s College.
Sophomore Tyson Leighton was two for four with a home run in the first game for Vanguard (4-3, 0-2 in conference), and junior Jason Machado scored twice.
In the second game, which went seven innings, Vanguard could muster just four hits against Joe Zeller of The Master’s.
