Mesa seeks win to capture sixth straight league title

There have been ups and downs for the Costa Mesa High girls’ soccer team this season, yet the Mustangs are poised to win yet another league title.
Costa Mesa can clinch its sixth straight league title with a win against visiting Calvary Chapel today at 3 p.m. The Mustangs (10-8-5, 4-1-3 in the Orange Coast League) are in first place, one point ahead of their rival Estancia (9-7-2, 4-2-2), which is in second.
Estancia plays host to Laguna Beach today at 3 p.m.
The Mustangs opened league play without a win in their first four matches. They had three ties and suffered their first league loss to Estancia in 13 years.
