Girls under 10
Thunder and Lightning play tough: Thunder and Lightning advanced to the Area Q championship and played an outstanding game. Although they lost by shootout to North Irvine, they represented Region 97 impressively. Siena Ward scored a goal in the first period. Kelly McFetters played solid at halfback, while Yasmine Gomez, Kathryn Arblaster and Abby Sauerborn all kept the offensive pressure. On defense, Carly Van Oostendorp let nothing up the middle. while Grace Vandervort and Claire Johnson ran down everyone on the outside. Giulia Chlarson and Samantha Del Toro played stellar and aggressive throughout. In goal, Chloe Schilling stopped many shot attempts and put the ball in play smartly. Madeline Phillips was not able to play, but provided strong defense all season long. Thunder and Lightning was co-coached by Damon Van Oostendorp and Scott McFetters.
Little Breakers 4, South Irvine 2: The Little Breakers, a silver all-star team, played a controlled game under the leadership of defensive center Faith Harper. Grace Vandervort and Zoe Conley also played strong in defense, including a rotation in goal. Paige Fults and McKenzie Porteous rounded out the defense, stopping Irvine attacks from the right and the left. Strikers Haley Martinez and Jackie Singer moved the ball into scoring position with excellent dribbling, passes and crosses. Center forwards Destry Comp and Siena Ward scored two apiece.

Newport-Mesa Sailors 55, Corona-Norco Ballers 25: The Sailors improved to 7-1 with a win over the Ballers.
Nick Hannah had his best outing of the season with a game-high 11 points, four steals and two assists. Drew Olson added 10 points and six assists, while Robbie Rettig and Connor Kelly added eight points each. Reid Meckler and Blake Grable provided stability and defense during the game, which was dominated in the paint by Blake Motal and Jackson Pries, who combined for 14 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Division II
Warriors 40, Spartans 34: The Warriors improved to 7-0 with a close win over the Spartans.
The strong play-making of Matt Hurst and scoring punch of Cole Norris led the team to victory. Milad Rohani, Jake Hastings, Trent Dill and Will Van Dalsem played great games for the undefeated Warriors. The Spartans played well in defeat and were led by the play of Sean Cox, Jack Binford and Peter Seidner.
Bears 37, Red Storm 20: The Bears won for the second time this season with a hard-fought victory over the Storm.
The game was very close until the final period with the Bears pulling away with the win. Clay Woodward, David Schaeffer and Parker Chase had a combined 15 rebounds and 15 points in the paint. The Red Storm were led by Mason Mclaughlin who led all scorers with 11 points. Geoff Morris and Ryan Braun also played well in the loss.
