COSTA MESA — Troy McClanahan had 16 points as the Eagles swept the Battle for the Bell series from the Mustangs on Friday night at Costa Mesa High.
McClanahan had four three-pointers for Estancia (11-13, 3-4 in league), which won all three of its league games against cross-town rival Mesa this year. The Eagles, who play at Calvary Chapel on Tuesday and at home against Laguna Beach on Thursday, need to win at least one of those games to qualify for at-large consideration into the CIF playoffs.
Costa Mesa (0-24, 0-7) was led by junior Mikey Molina with eight points.

NEWPORT COAST — On senior night, senior forward Connor Rose had 18 points and 12 rebounds to help the Lightning to the Academy League victory Friday at Sage Hill.
Senior guard Jamie McGee also scored 18 for Sage Hill (9-14, 4-4 in league).
Sage Coach Jeff Beeler said the Lightning need to win both of their games next week, beginning with a game Wednesday at rival St. Margaret’s, and also get help in order to finish third in league and make the CIF playoffs.

CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Sean Donovan scored 18 points to help lead the Sea Kings to the Pacific Coast League win Friday night.
Senior Stefan Kaluz added 14 points and six rebound for Corona del Mar (19-6, 7-0 in league), which played without senior Joe Eberhard (illness). Senior Erik Rask and freshman Clayton Ragsdlae had five assists each for the Sea Kings, who face Gahr of Cerritos today at 10 a.m. at the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei.

Kassie Stratton scored 19 points to lead the Eagles.

Senior Kellee Kim assisted on both goals for Sage Hill (10-8-2, 7-0-1 in league).
The Lightning will be playing for the league championship Tuesday at St. Margaret’s (7-0-1 in league) at 5 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Estancia swept cross-town rival Costa Mesa in Orange Coast League play Friday, defeating the Mustangs (1-12, 0-7 in league) for the third time this season.
Senior striker Eric Duarte, who now leads in the league in in-league scoring with six goals, scored in the 35th minute. Sophomore center midfielder Ricky Gomez scored the second goal in the 45th minute.
Goalkeeper Andres Villareal had four saves for the Eagles (8-6-3, 5-2 in league). Eddie Rodriguez had four saves for the Mustangs, and Shadia Vargas added five.
Corona del Mar 3, Irvine 2
CORONA DEL MAR — Mitchell Williams, Reed Williams and Omeed Alemi each scored goals for the Sea Kings in a Pacific Coast League game Friday.
Brian Ford, Daniel Hong and Kevin Kottke all played solid defense, helping Corona del Mar (8-7-2, 4-2-0 in league) avenge an earlier loss to Irvine.
Corona del Mar goalkeeper Zack Maurer-Erickson had 12 saves.
