Depression, bipolar disorders to be discussed at church
St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach will host an educational seminar for people suffering from depression or bipolar disorders and their family members Saturday. It’s the church’s first community education program of the year.
“Bipolar Disorder: Rebuilding Your Life†author Rev. Jim Stout and St. Joseph’s Hospital psychiatrist Himasiri DeSilva will lead a discussion encouraging strategies for surviving, recovering and rebuilding the lives of everyone affected.
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is in its 12th year of community education seminars. Saturday’s event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church’s conference room. Admission is $15 and on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch and informational handouts will be provided. The church is at 600 Saint Andrews Road, Newport Beach.
