Ford OCC’s all-time points leader

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Orange Coast College sophomore Courtney Ford scored 19 points to become the school’s all-time scoring leader during the Pirates’ 80-25 Orange Empire Conference victory at Golden West Friday.

Coming into Friday night’s game, Ford, a 5-foot-7 guard, needed 19 points to pass Lisa Shumaker. Ford now has 1,131 points, one more than Shumaker scored 1985-87.

Ford’s effort helped the Pirates (19-3, 3-1 in conference) get back in the win column in the OEC after having its 17-conference-game winning streak snapped Wednesday, when Orange Coast lost to Fullerton, 68-56.
