Boat auction proceeds go to OCC school of sailing

Why not get an early start to the summer sailing season and get that boat, trailer or equipment for less?
OCC is hosting its annual boat auction and marine gear sale Saturday at the college’s boatyard, behind the Transportation Building off Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive in Costa Mesa.
Everything from trailer-ready sail and power boats, dinghies, kayaks, Boston whalers, sabots, ski boats, keel boats, sails, electronic equipment, rigging, life rafts and outboards will be up for the bidding. All the vessels were donated to the OCC Foundation and are sold “as is.” That means nothing is known about their history, design, build or condition. Proceeds will go to the college’s School of Sailing and Seamanship.
Bidder’s registration is scheduled for 7 a.m., the marine gear sale is at 8 a.m. and the live auction begins at 9 a.m. There are no minimum bids. A list of equipment for sale is available by calling (949) 645-9412.
