Laguna teams rank in first CIF-SS polls

Four Laguna Beach High winter teams, girls’ water polo, boys’ soccer and boys’ and girls’ basketball, have made their way into the first CIF-Southern Section Division III polls of the 2007-08 regular season.

The first winter polls for boys’ and girls’ soccer, basketball, girls’ water polo and wrestling, were released Monday by the Southern Section office in Los Alamitos.

Beach volleyball classes now underway

Beach volleyball classes are underway at Main Beach for beginning through advanced players, ages 16-and-over.

Classes began Saturday.

Both the 9 a.m. beginning/ intermediate and 10:30 a.m. advanced sessions offer a workout emphasizing core skills, strength, flexibility and ball control, in a fun and social setting.

Novice players will learn the game in a relaxed environment and advanced players can get in shape and hone their skills for tournament and challenge court play. Future classes will be offered in the spring and summer as well.
