Newport Beach Golden Girls 0, South Irvine Patriots 0: First-half action included numerous offensive attacks by forwards Jaci DeFeo, Emily Fay and Rylie Siegfried, but no success in finding the back of the net. The Golden Girls also received a lucky break when a Patriots’ goal was taken away due to a offside call. The Patriots proved to be the more aggressive team in the second half, but they still couldn’t get by the Golden Girls’ defense of Reilly Cox, Bailey Scalzo and Jojo Stassel.

Golden Girls goalkeeper Kate Hefner made an incredible save when she leaped for a high shot and knocked it out over the goal.

Emily Halphide and Kelly McFetters led a few counterattacks in the second half to keep the Patriots on their toes.
