BREAKDOWN: The Anteaters (7-9, 2-1 in the Big West Conference) are bidding to extend their conference winning streak to three and remain at least tied for third in the Big West standings ... UCI is coming off a pair of home victories last week against conference foes UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo ... UCI plays six of its next seven games on the road, all against conference teams ... UC Davis (7-9, 1-2) is coming off a pair of conference road losses to Cal State Northridge and Long Beach State ... This is the first season the Aggies have been official members of the Big West, the first time they are included in the conference standings, and the first time they are eligible for the conference tournament ... UCI is 1-9 in games not played on its campus this season, with the lone victory an 80-77 overtime triumph at Harvard on Dec. 30 ... UCI is led by seniors Patrick Sanders (14.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game) and Darren Fells (14.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg). Fells leads the Big West in field-goal shooting (60.2%) ... UCI junior guard Brett Lauer is shooting 45.5% from three-point range (30 of 66). He is averaging 8.1 points per game, but 15.1 ppg in conference play ... UC Davis relies upon junior guard Vince Oliver (12.4 ppg) and sophomore guard Shane Hanson (11.6 ppg) ... The Aggies, coached by Gary Stewart, are 6-1 at home this season.
