Bicyclist involved in collision with Jeep dies from injuries

A 55-year-old bicyclist who was involved in a serious accident Friday died over the weekend, authorities said Tuesday.
Robert Arthur Sandoval, of Costa Mesa, died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.
Sandoval suffered the injuries Friday when he was riding his bike on Placentia Avenue toward 19th Street, allegedly crossed traffic and was struck by a motorist in a Jeep Cherokee, according to police. The force of the accident threw Sandoval onto the hood and windshield of the vehicle before he fell to the ground.
The death was ruled accidental, according to coroners.
