Meditative yoga and Kabbalah will be the subject of a lecture at Chabad Jewish Center in Laguna Beach.
Audi Gozlan will lecture on Kabbalah Yoga at 7 p.m. Feb. 3, at the Center, 30804 S. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach.
Gozlan lives in Montreal, where he has a successful legal profession but is also well known for his writings and paintings.
Kabbalah Yoga is the fruit of Gozlan’s long involvement in both physical and spiritual betterment.
In the early ’90s, while pursuing his law degree at the University of Montreal, Gozlan taught Kabbalah wisdom and meditation at the Hillel Student Center on campus. After graduating, he became involved with the Chai Center of Montreal, which has been home to his many teachings on Kabbalah meditation. Recently, he branched out and founded the first-ever Kabbalah Yoga Center, located in Montreal.
Gozlan is completing a Doctorate in Law. In the academic world of law, he is known for his published articles on commercial letters of credit and applicable laws to international banking transactions. His book, “International Letters of Credit: Resolving Conflict of Law Disputes,” published by Kluwer Law International, is considered an authority on the subject.
Gozlan realized the link between yoga and Kabbalah quite by accident. One day, while performing the Warrior II yoga posture with an instructor, it occurred to him the shape he was taking was roughly the same shape of a Hebrew letter, Alef.
This epiphany of the connection between Kabbalah and yoga changed his life. In 1999, he started writing about meditation beginning with Abraham, the biblical patriarch. By 2002, he published a book titled “Gifts of Abraham,” followed shortly thereafter by his second book, “Kaballah Yoga.” By the time he appeared on “Off The Record,” a Canadian television show, “Gifts of Abraham” was a bestseller.
Recently, Gozlan was featured in the documentary film “Love & Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain,” to explain the power of Nirvana.
To attend the lecture, call (949) 499-0770 for a reservation. The cost is $18 at the door.
