Heavy rain possible in morning; clear skies later
Clouds loomed over Costa Mesa and Newport Beach Tuesday, but rain didn’t fall until the evening with predictions forecasting showers to remain overnight. Today should get wet as well, but will likely be a repeat of Tuesday’s weather.
Forecasts call for rain this morning, which could get heavy mostly before 10 a.m., but clearer weather should prevail later in the day, according to the National Weather Service. The storm could dump up to an inch of rain by the time it’s through.
Skies will remain cloudy today and Thursday as a Pacific System from Alaska rolls through and brings a 30% chance of rain through Thursday night, but Friday is expected to be sunny.
Orange County areas affected by the fires should keep a watchful eye on the weather as rain could cause mudslides.
