Recycling services looking for few green trees, shrubs

CR&R; Waste and Recycling Services is asking residents of Costa Mesa and Newport Coast to give one more gift this season — used Christmas trees and holiday greenery.

Residents can place their trees and greenery at the curb alongside containers to be collected on regular pickup days from Dec. 26 until Jan. 11.

To insure safety and to avoid losing valuables, residents should make sure they have removed all ornaments, lights and stands from trees before placing them for disposal. Large trees should be cut into pieces 6 feet or less.
