A Costa Mesa man was hospitalized late Friday night after being stabbed twice at a party at his residence, according to Lt. Marty Carver of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
Ismael Sandoval, 22, was transported to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian shortly after 10:30 p.m. and listed in stable condition following surgery. Carver said Sandoval had gotten into an fight with a group of party guests, and one of them stabbed him in the stomach twice with a knife.
The details of the incident, he added, remained sketchy and police did not know whether the assailants had been invited to the party, which was held in the 2200 block of Maple Street, or whether anyone else had been injured.
“Evidently, they were just acting up at the party and he wanted them to leave,” Carver said.
An investigation is ongoing and police have no suspects yet.
