Muldoon’s, a Dublin-style bar and restaurant by Fashion Island, plans to have its 20th annual “Irish Dickens Christmas” beginning Friday, with all employees in turn-of-the-century Irish garb and traditional food offerings from County Cork.
The holiday celebration is scheduled to continue daily through Dec. 24. Menu items will include duckling glazed with brandy and oranges, and wassail with little lady apples floating in snifters, cranberry chutney, trifles, apple pie and organic sweet potatoes.
Special events director Richard Kaplan said each employee had been fitted for old-fashioned scullery attire. Minstrels and carolers will provide entertainment. Muldoon’s is located at 202 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach. Call (949) 640-4110 for reservations or information.
Cosi debuts special holiday menu
Cosi, a restaurant that opened this summer in the Metro Pointe at South Coast shopping center in Costa Mesa, recently debuted a holiday menu that is scheduled to continue through Jan. 5.
The seasonal items on the menu include a turkey and stuffing sandwich with cranberry sauce, a turkey and stuffing hearth-baked dinner with bistro salad and flatbread, an eggnog latte and a seasonal four-coffee blend.
