Chabad celebrates Hanukkah

Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is highlighted by the kindling of the Menorah each night, adding one additional candle each night for eight days.

“It is a holiday that enriches our lives with the light of tradition,” said Rabbi Eli Goorevitch, spiritual leader of Chabad Jewish Center in Laguna Beach. “In ancient times our ancestors rededicated the Temple in Jerusalem with the Menorah. Today, we rededicate ourselves to making this world a better and brighter place.”

Chabad welcomes the community to celebrate Hanukkah, which begins at sunset Dec. 4.

Storytime, Beach Bash, Fiesta

Perel Goorevitch, director of Chabad Preschool, will present a guitar singalong, arts and crafts, chocolate gelt, Menorah lighting and Hanukkah Stories at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at a Hanukkah Storytime at Barnes & Noble Aliso Viejo.
