Area volleyball players commit to colleges

Four Newport-Mesa high school volleyball players signed letters of intent declaring where they will play next season.

Tucker Peleuses, Gus Ellis, Mark Liebermann, and Kyle Caldwell, who all play for the Balboa Bays club team, gathered Nov. 14 at Acapulco restaurant to celebrate.

Peleuses, Liebermann, and Caldwell are all seniors at Newport Harbor. Ellis plays for Corona del Mar.

Peleuses is attending Southern California, and Leibermann will play for UC-Santa Barbara. Caldwell committed to UCLA, and Ellis will play at Stanford.

Peleuses and Caldwell were All-Sunset league selections last season, and Ellis was a first-team Division II and All-Pacific Coast League selection.
