Harman hands out turkeys to military families, shelters

Sen. Tom Harman gave Thanksgiving turkeys this week to the American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291. Members of American Legion Post 291 will distribute the turkeys to military families in need during the holiday season.

Harman also provided turkeys to the Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos and the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce to be distributed to needy families through the Laguna Relief and Resource Coalition.

The turkeys were provided by Golden State Water Co. and the California Water Assn.

The senator gave the turkeys to members of the 1st Battalion 1st Marine, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 314th Military Police and the Marine Corps Recruiting Station of Orange County.

Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos provides emergency, transitional and single-parent efficiency services for pregnant women who have no place to live.

Laguna Relief and Resource Coalition serves Laguna Beach by providing for the needs of low-income residents in Laguna Beach.
