Cast members needed for hospital’s musical fundraiser

One of the biggest fundraisers in support of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County is holding auditions starting today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Island Hotel.

“Waiting for CHOCMAN” is a musical take-off of the Christopher Guest comedy “Waiting for Guffman.” It is being produced by the CHOC Follies, an organization that has raised more than $3 million for Children’s Hospital of Orange County over the past decade.

The public auditions will run until Dec. 1 and are open to those 21 and over. All cast members must raise or purchase a minimum of $750 in ticket sales in order to be part of the show. Auditions are done in groups, except for the singing or dancing solo parts. Those auditions will be held after 2 p.m. and those auditioning should bring music sheets, CDs or tapes.
