A woman crossing Beach Boulevard died after two cars and a motorcycle struck her one after the other Wednesday evening, police said. The victim’s identity has not been released because authorities are still trying to contact her family, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.
While crossing Beach Boulevard near Newman Avenue, she was run over by a 1993 Ford Explorer, then hit by a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a dark-colored motorcycle. A section of the street was closed down for several hours that night for the investigation.
The Explorer’s driver, Daniel Muñoz, 54, of Huntington Beach, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, while the driver of the motorcycle rode away, according to police. Witnesses told authorities he was about 5-foot-9, with blond hair and a medium build, wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.
The collision is still under investigation, and police are asking for anyone who may have seen it happen to call (714) 536-5663.
