“I have many, many fond memories of attending the Fish Fry, starting as a child way back in the early 1970’s, and as a parent taking my own children every year up until our move to Georgia. The CM Lions has always been great in its efforts to support the community and while the move would be challenging, I would hope that a decision is made that BOTH the city and Lions can agree on to let this long-standing tradition and its history continue.”

“One of the concerns not mentioned is the impact on the turf on the baseball field at Lions Park. The point of contention from the maintenance division is that this event too severely damages the turf; a false concern. Keep the fish fry at Lions Park and get a maintenance staff that is capable of growing grass and is also less interested in creating ideas on how to keep people off it.”

“I’m with Mike. Keep the fish fry where it’s been for years and put the skate park in the area close to the model engineers land. Instead of the public getting to use the city-owned property one weekend a month it could be used daily. It’s in a prime location there and the fish fry can continue at Lion’s Park.”

“The fish fry is Costa Mesa’s only real tradition. To end it unnecessarily would be a tragedy. Our elected leaders should do everything in their power to preserve this fine and valuable community event.”

“Keep the fish fry, and move the skate park closer to the schools so kids can use it.”
