A surf-themed benefit for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County takes place Nov. 3.

The fundraiser will begin at 6 p.m. in the Harborside Restaurant and Grand Ballroom at the Balboa Pavilion, 400 Main St., Balboa.

The second annual “Rock for CHOC” event will begin with a cocktail reception and buffet dinner, followed by the sounds of HONK, a local rock ‘n’ roll band from the ‘70s featured in the surf movie “Five Summer Stories,” and the Jeffrey John Band.

Santa Claus will make an appearance, and guests will have an opportunity to bid on items in a silent auction.

Guest speaker Dr. Anthony Chang, director of CHOC’s Pediatric Heart Institute, is scheduled to present information on the hospital’s new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Tickets are $100 and can be purchased online at www.rockforchoc.org.

All money raised by the CHOC Foundation at these events is used to help provide services and equipment for Children’s Hospital of Orange County and CHOC at Mission.
