UC Irvine’s Taylor earns share of Big West honor

UC Irvine freshman Tanya Taylor was named Big West Conference Co-Player of the Week in women’s soccer after netting two goals in a win over UC Santa Barbara.

Taylor scored both Anteaters goals in the 2-1 win on Sunday. It was UCI’s first win over the Gauchos since 1998. Taylor is tied for the team lead with 11 points and is now tied for fifth in the Big West in scoring.

This is the first honor for Taylor and the first for a UCI player since 2005 when Kelly Little won the award. Taylor shares the honor with Tessa Lennala of UC Riverside.
