NEWPORT BEACH — Lauren Draganza and Tiffany Kim both shot a seven-over-par 43 to help the Sailors beat the Griffins at Big Canyon Country Club in a Sunset League match on Tuesday.

Ali Thomas (45), Lindsey Hanna (46) and Morgan Moody (46) also helped in the big win. Robin Kim of Los Al shot 39 for medalist honors.

Newport Harbor (13-3, 7-2 in league) will play for the league championship against Marina on Thursday at Big Canyon Country Club.

NEWPORT BEACH — Tess Crane shot six-over-par 41 for the Sea Kings’ low in their Pacific Coast League match at Newport Beach Country Club Tuesday.

Kelly Moorhead shot 45, while Monica Phan and Amanda Johnson both finished with 47 for CdM (5-4 in league), which produced its lowest score of the year. Katharine Hanson and Ashley Varner both shot 49.

The Sea Kings play against San Juan Hills at Costa Mesa Country Club today.

COSTA MESA — The Eagles’ Ellie Edles swept her sets without dropping a game in the Orange Coast League match Tuesday.

The doubles team of Jennifer Johnston and Abby Koff also cruised, dropping just two games to help Estancia improve to 10-4, 3-1 in league.

CORONA DEL MAR — The Sea Kings won eight of nine doubles sets in their Pacific Coast League match Tuesday at CdM.

The teams of Elizabeth Nguyen and Kelli Feeley, and Rebecca Beyer and Azadeh Nazemi, each swept for CdM (12-2, 5-0 in league). Paige Polizois and Kate Stimac each won two of three singles matches.

CdM, ranked No. 3 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, plays host to defending Division IV champion Valencia of Placencia today.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Lightning swept all nine doubles sets in their Academy League match Tuesday at Brethren Christian.

The doubles teams of Danielle Goodman and Niki Cochran, and Isa-Marie Taskinen and Kelly Chang both swept for Sage Hill (8-4, 4-0 in league), as did Sarah Choi and Sam Murray.

Brethren Christian dropped to 1-9, 0-9.

The Lightning, ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division IV coaches’ poll, plays host to rival St. Margaret’s today at 3 p.m. at the Balboa Bay Club Racquet Club. The Tartans are No. 3 in Division IV and also unbeaten in league thus far.

NEWPORT BEACH — Katie Lawler, Alice Cope and Katie Thompson each had six kills to help lead the Sailors to a 25-5, 25-18, 25-21 Sunset League win Tuesday

Alesha Young added 14 assists, four digs and two service aces for Newport Harbor (17-3, 4-1 in league).

The Sailors will play Esperanza at home on Thursday

Corona del Mar 11, Servite 8

CORONA DEL MAR — Sea Kings junior Carter Taylor scored four goals in the nonleague game Tuesday at CdM.

Chris Cottrell scored three times for CdM (13-5), ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll. The Sea Kings avenged an overtime loss to Servite, the No. 2-ranked team in Division II, in the Southern California Invitational two weeks ago.

Corona del Mar plays at Irvine in a Pacific Coast League game today at 4 p.m.

WEST HILLS — The Sailors’ goalkeeper Jessie Bass had three saves and Maggie Bernay and Liz Tennyson showed strong defense in the Sunset League match Tuesday.

Newport Harbor dropped to 16-4-2, 5-2 in league.

The Sailors will play Fountain Valley on Thursday.

Newport Harbor 94,

Dana Hills 73

NEWPORT — The Sailors’ won seven of the eight heats to add their second win Tuesday, beating Dana Hills at Salt Creek.

Victor Done, Canon Call, Tyler Tarlow and Graeme Chesnie led Newport Harbor with first-place finishes and a combined score of 50-34.

Done had a 7.3 average that was best in the competition.

Robert Guy placed first in the long board competition and Devyn Hartnett led the girls’ long board squad with a first-place finish.

Kaleigh Gilchrist won first place for the girls’ short board with an average wave score of 6.6.
