PE class takes annual ocean tour on Coast Guard ship
Ensign Intermediate school students on Wednesday got an all-hands-on-deck lesson on what the Coast Guard does, thanks to physical education teacher Joe Fuschetti’s annual class trip.
The class got a tour of the ocean from a Coast Guard ship.
“Everyone has the opportunity to participate, and it is a trip of a lifetime,” Fuschetti said.
The field trip is filled with water-safety tips and a tour of the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol Station.
Student Cassie Deterding said the experience was a first, but it got her eager to learn more.
“This is my first time on a boat, and next I’m going to go kayaking,” Cassie said.
Fuschetti has been involved in this opportunity for four years, and hopes to continue coordinating this program.
