A hearing to increase the bail for a man actor Nicolas Cage allegedly found in his Newport Beach home last week wearing nothing but one of the star’s jackets is scheduled for Oct. 16 at Harbor Justice Center.
Robert Dennis Furo, 45, a tailor from San Pedro, is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the Orange County Central Jail in Santa Ana. Orange County prosecutors filled a motion to increase bail last week, said Orange County District Attorney spokesperson Farrah Emami on Wednesday.
Furo was arrested after Cage found a man in his home in the early hours of Oct. 1, police said. Cage escorted a man out of his house and police found Furo naked in the actor’s back yard about 2 a.m., Lt. Craig Fox said.
Detectives found a car belonging to the suspect near Cage’s home, Fox said. Furo pleaded not guilty to one charge of first-degree burglary.
