Next Sunday afternoon, grab the family and join the 19th annual United Interfaith Hunger Walk around part of the Upper Newport Bay. Registration begins at 1 p.m., and 5K and 7K walks begin at 1:30 p.m. It will be a purposeful walk by families, student groups, service clubs and congregations as funds are raised to help end hunger locally and around the world.
The walk begins and ends at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 2100 Mar Vista Drive, Newport Beach. Registration information is available at www.hungerwalknewportbeach.org. For more information contact Bob Johnston at (949) 644-4949.
OKAZAKI STUDENTS IN NEWPORT BEACH
The annual Okazaki-Newport Beach Student Exchange began this past week and continues this coming week with the arrival of six students and two chaperons from Okazaki, Japan. While here, the students are hosted by Newport Beach students who toured Okazaki this past summer.
The Student Exchange has been sponsored by the Rotary Club of Newport-Balboa for over 20 years, according to Dan Hoffmann the clubs International Service Director with hosting duties shared by the Newport Beach Sister City Assn.

ABORIGINAL ARTWORKS
The Costa Mesa Sister City Education Exchange program is hosting an Aboriginal Artworks fundraiser on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center. Admission and refreshments are complimentary.
THIRD ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN
The Third Annual Orange County Conference for Women, sponsored by the city of Newport Beach and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, is set for Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Newport Beach. This third annual conference, founded by Newport Beach City Councilwoman Leslie Daigle, is establishing a tradition of women coming together to share their accomplishments, challenges and futures.
The half-day conference, to be held at the Balboa Bay Club and Resort, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and feature panel discussions and a luncheon with keynote address.
