Rodman still sought in sexual battery report

Orange County Sheriff’s investigators are still seeking part-time Newport Beach resident and former NBA star Dennis Rodman for an interview after a woman said he spanked her at a bar.
The sheriff’s department has tried unsuccessfully to reach Rodman since Sept. 16, when a woman at Hennessey’s Tavern in Dana Point filed a sexual battery report against him. The woman, whose name has not been released, claimed Rodman slapped her buttocks.
Rodman splits his time between Miami and Newport Beach, Rodman’s manager Darren Prince told the Daily Pilot last week.
Amormino said the sheriff’s department would proceed with the case if Rodman could not be reached. The sheriff’s department has never officially released Rodman’s name in connection with the complaint because he has not been arrested or charged in connection with the case.
Prince could not be reached for comment Tuesday, but told the Daily Pilot last week the woman punched Rodman in the chest at the bar, asked him to pull down his pants and gave him her phone number before the alleged incident.
