Club baseball team has spots available
The Vikings Baseball Club of Huntington Beach is looking for four enthusiastic players to complete its 2007-2008 roster.
The club team seeks a catcher and pitcher as well as two versatile players.
To be eligible for the team, a player’s 13th birthday must fall between May 1, 2007, and April 30, 2008.

Hoops registration now underway
The Huntington Beach chapter of National Junior Basketball is accepting registration for its upcoming winter league which begins in November.
Registration is open to players in first through eighth grades until Oct. 6. Player evaluations will be Oct. 14.

Edison falls to No. 7 in football poll
Coming off its first loss of the season — 6-0 to Servite — Edison fell from fourth to seventh in the latest CIF-Southern Section Pac-5 Division football poll.
Servite used the win over Edison to climb from sixth to fourth in the poll.
Mater Dei, Edison’s opponent Friday, still heads the poll. The rankings were released Tuesday by the Southern Section office in Los Alamitos.
Pac-5 Division rankings: 1. Mater Dei; 2. Orange Lutheran; 3. Long Beach Poly; 4. Servite; 5. Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks; 6. Los Alamitos; 7. Edison; 8. Crespi; 9. Mission Viejo; 10. Compton.
