MAILBAG:Representation seems to be missing

What incredible arrogance! Four members of the Newport Beach City Council voted to move ahead with spending millions to make a park where 15,000 voters signed petitions to have the city hall issue decided by the voters next February. That’s just under 25% of the 60,496 registered voters in the city.

They must have thought building the park would forestall the vote on the “City Hall in the Park” next February. Or, were they thinking at all? We have taxation, but we don’t seem to have representation!

Keep track of Ramzee’s future sports moves

Suggestion: I liked hearing about Ramzee sticking it out with Detroit so far. I think it would be a good idea for the last picked player to keep a journal, and report back throughout the season periodically. These guys come to town, get all the notoriety, then they’re gone, never to be heard of again!

I think a lot of us would be interested to know what happened after they leave Newport Beach, at least for the next four months or so. Make it in the NFL, or go home to do what?

Pendleton memorial can go in my front yard

Since the City Council is having such a difficult time locating a memorial honoring Camp Pendleton’s 1/1 Battalion, I would like to offer my front yard. At my house we honor the Marine Corps. I would like to remind the City Council that one-third of the casualties in Iraq are from Camp Pendleton.
