Predators blank opponents

The Predators scored the only goals they would need for victory during the first period of their Smythe Division match Monday against the Young Americans, and went on to earn a 2-0 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
The game’s scoring consisted of goals by Zak Show and Ricky Meyer, with Meyer getting an assist on Show’s goal.
Kyle Aube protected the shutout by coming up with 21 saves.
Ethan Higbee had 23 saves for the Young Americans.
In Mite Club Division action:
In The Mix 6, Blades 99 4
Both teams came on strong in the final period, but In The Mix held on for the win Monday.
A goal by Braeden Stack in each of the first two periods allowed In The Mix to forge a 2-0 lead.
Both teams came up with four goals in the third period.
Stack scored three goals overall, Joe Gibb had a goal and assist, Kasey Kunichica and Keaton Nalle both scored once and Joshua Fowler had an assist.
For Blades 99, Jordan Bonner scored twice and had an assist and Casey Rhodes and Brett Rudy each had a goal and assist.
In Howe Division action:
Diablos 8, Hat Tricks 5
The Diablos broke a 3-3 tie by outscoring the Hat Tricks, 8-5, in the final period.
Austin Koss led the Diablos attack with five goals which included scoring his team’s last two goals in the final 2:09 to put the game away.
Jace Gan scored the second of his two goals in the match with 6:44 left in the match to break a 5-5 tie.
Karson Derego scored the Diablos’ first goal.
Matthew Chism and Danielle Dapello each had two assists and Koss had one assist.
Keane Wong scored three times and had an assist and Auston Leming scored twice and had two assists for the Hat Tricks.
Goonies 6, Storm 5
Jonathan Carlson scored off a Karson Derego assist in an overtime shootout to lift the Goonies past the Storm.
Paul Wirth posted three goals and Derego scored once and finished with three assists.
Eric Grant, who didn’t give up a goal in overtime, recorded 33 saves.
The Storm was led on offense by Brandon White who scored three goals.
Nicholas Ashworth and Mark Clifford also scored, Matthew Oyakawa had an assist and Savannah Patton finished with 18 saves.
In Norris Division action:
Breakers 6, Bruins 4
The Breakers outscored the Bruins by two in the third period to emerge with the win.
Cole Pavlik and Kyle Hoglund each scored twice and Patrick Standel and Colin Douglass each once.
Hoglund and Douglass each had two assists, Standel and Sean Morris one apiece and Corey Childers finished with 14 saves.
Ian Corey paced the Bruins offense with two goals. Trent Sievers and Connor Karns each had one goal.
Sievers, Kirsten Schaefer and Riley Bozanich had assists.
Chris Hernandez had 20 saves.
Swat 7, Misfits 5
Joshua Wagoner scored three consecutive goals over two periods as Swat defeated the Misfits.
Joe Gibb had two goals and Ryan Beardshear and Braeden Stack one each to complete the Swat scoring. Connor McCormack had two assists and Brandon Wagoner had 11 saves.
Alexander Gomez scored three times and had one assist and Daniel Chladek each scored twice with an assist to lead the Misfits.
Jeremy Williams also had an assist and Ismael Ralsten had 15 saves.
