OCPAC screens cult musical classic ‘Xanadu’

Presented in cooperation with the Newport Beach Film Festival
The Orange County Performing Arts Center presents a free showing of the musical “Xanadu” Monday evening as part of a four-part series held in partner with the Newport Beach Film Festival through the month of August at the center’s Plaza.
The 1980 musical romance stars Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly Michael Beck and offers a stellar soundtrack from the Electric Light Orchestra.
“Xanadu” has always drawn a large cult following, and a stage adaptation is currently on Broadway. The movie is directed by Robert Greenwald.
The Plaza opens at 5:30 p.m. to grab spots for the show and will feature a skating rink which will run for two hours before the film starts at 8:30 p.m. The Performing Arts center is at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa.
