    Shipley Nature Center, at 17829 Goldenwest Street within Huntington Beach’ Center Park, is offering new evening hours, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the nature center, Thursday evenings through August 1.     WEDNESDAY JULY 4Enjoy Surf City’s Run, Expo & Parade.

    The Surf City Run kicks-off activities for the City of Huntington Beach’s Fourth of July annual celebration.

    The 5K course starts promptly at 7 a.m. with the residents’ run and finishes with the kids’ run.

    The Fitness Expo will feature music, food and games. The race course for all the races will start and finish at Huntington Beach High School on the corner of 17th Street and Main Street. Entry fee is $30, and it includes a T-shirt and expo entry.
