The following information was obtained from Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jason Kravetz for the period from June 13 to June 18.
MONDAY
Crescent Bay Park: At 4:03 a.m. five young people, aged 16 and 17 from Thousand Oaks, Yorba Linda and Placentia, were cited for violating the 10 p.m. curfew, and an 18-year-old was cited for marijuana possession, at the park.
Cortez Street: At 10:23 a.m. a woman reported that her purse had been stolen in her house between June 14 and June 15 in the 1000 block.
SUNDAY
Pitcairn Place: At 1:05 a.m. a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old man were cited on suspicion of smoking marijuana inside a car in the 1300 block.
So. Coast Highway: At 11:52 a.m. a woman stole a $28 bottle of vodka from a grocery store in the 700 block.
SATURDAY
So. Coast Highway: At 2:29 a.m. a Corona del Mar man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being pulled over for speeding at Cleo Street.
Broadway: At 1:56 p.m. a 44-year-old homeless man was taken into custody on a parole violation after parents complained that he was asking children in a playground to play with him in the 300 block.
FRIDAY
Main Beach: At 10:37 a.m. an 18-year-old Riverside man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public after being found passed out; two others were also cited for drinking alcohol at the beach.
West Street Beach: At 1:41 p.m. a 20-year-old Dana Point man and a 19-year-old Laguna Niguel woman were cited on suspicion of marijuana possession and drinking alcohol on the beach.
Laguna Canyon Road: At 2:56 p.m. a Santa Ana man was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and his car was taken by police at Canyon Acres Road.
Cliff Drive: At 3:41 p.m. a female author told police she was being harassed by a fan who had written her love letters for the past 10 years in the 300 block.
THURSDAY
So. Coast Highway: At 2:04 a.m. an Irvine man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being pulled over for speeding in the 1500 block.
So. Coast Highway: At 11:37 a.m. a business owner reported that an irate customer had made 15-20 hang-up calls to the business in the 1700 block.
No. Coast Highway: At 12:16 p.m. a 21-year-old Ramona man was cited on suspicion of marijuana possession after the car he was riding in was pulled over at Boat Canyon.
Forest Avenue: At 2:37 p.m. a homeless man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and giving a false name to police in the 200 block.
Moulton Meadows Park: At 2:55 p.m. $2,500 in damage to a new rubberized playground mat was reported at the park.
Lagunita Beach: At 6:06 p.m. the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad was called to remove a live smoke bomb that washed up on the beach and was believed to have been used in military exercises off of Camp Pendleton.
WEDNESDAY
So. Coast Highway: At 10:08 a.m. a 29-year-old Aliso Viejo woman was arrested on suspicion of stealing a $27 bottle of alcohol from a grocery store in the 700 block after store employees chased and held her for police.
Kilo Way: At 11:34 a.m. a 74-year-old Laguna Beach man reported to police that he had been the victim of an apparent scam in which he was sent a letter informing him that he could collect a $4 million Austrialian International Lottery prize if he sent $4,000 to a London address in the 2500 block.
Laguna Canyon Road: At 1:07 p.m. a 2005 Ford Focus was reported stolen from a rental car service in the 2100 block.
Cliff Drive: At 9:10 a.m. a 17-year-old man allegedly stole a credit card placed on a table by a diner at a restaurant in the 300 block.
