LOCAL TEAM MAKES WAVES

For the first time in eight years, a Pacific Coast Girls Fast Pitch All-Star softball team played in a tournament championship game.

The 12-and-under team from Newport Beach competed in the Tustin Romp All-Star Tournament and reached the title game on Sunday, where it lost, 5-3, to Orange Villa Park.

The Newport Beach all-stars finished first in their pool outscoring the opposition, 19-2. Brookie Migliori, Hattie Marshall and Lauren Gandi provided dominant pitching performances.

Ashley Beall, Marshall and Migliori hit home runs in a 12-0 rout over Laguna Niguel.

The team also included Amanda Legault, Brenna Landstrom, Mary Leal Cruz, Jordan Meyers, Nicole Perrier and Delaney Owen.
