PROM 2007:Seniors licensed to thrill for 007-themed prom

Tomorrow night, Laguna Beach High School juniors and seniors will be putting their extracurricular activities and uniforms aside in exchange for the chance to attend the 007-themed 2007 prom at a Huntington Beach resort.

Four students share their plans below.

Marshall Thomas

The Surfrider club president, Junior Citizen of the Year and student athlete will be exchanging his water testing equipment for a boutonnière.

My girlfriend, Tiffany Chen.

Where did you ask her?

I put Christmas lights on my balcony.

Whatcha wearing?

A black suit — details to be determined.

What’s your ride?

A double-decker London bus

Where else are you going that night?Just prom.

Bree Duplisea

The water polo star and ASB vice president says she’s going all-out girly this year.

All ready for prom?I ordered my dress online and it hasn’t come yet, so I’ll be freaking out soon.

Who are you going with?

A big group of friends.

Whatcha wearing?

A Mary L Couture vibrant orange-and-pink tropical bandeau gown from Nordstrom.

What’s your ride?

A shuttle bus from her friend’s father’s retirement center, decorated to fit the 007 theme.

Where else are you going that night?There will be a big dinner and we’ll take pictures beforehand, and there’s usually an afterparty.

Sheldon Eaton

The soccer player and track CIF qualifier will hurdle toward Huntington Beach in something a little fancier than cleats.

All ready for prom?I just have to pick up my tux on Friday.

Alex Lyon.

Where did you ask her?

In my physics class.

Whatcha wearing?

An all-white tux with a gold tie.

Where else are you going that night?I’m leaving it up to the limo supervisor.

Mary Trout

Unsuccessful in her previous attempts to attend Homecoming and Winter Formal this year, the athlete, Junior Citizen of the Year and club leader is looking forward to her first (and last) senior-year dance.

All ready for prom?All that’s left is choosing some gold jewelry.

Myself.

Whatcha wearing?

A halter-topped “USC-red” dress with an empire waist from Macy’s (originally purchased for Winter Formal).

What’s your ride?

The retirement center’s tricked-out shuttle buses prove to be popular.

Where else are you going that night?We’re starting off at a friend’s, and will probably end up there afterward.
