YOUTH SCENE:CdM steady as it heads into finals
The Newport-Mesa Intermediate School Track and Field preliminaries took place Tuesday with Corona del Mar enjoying success.
The finals will be held today at Corona Del Mar High at 3:30pm.
CdM dominated the 400-meter individual qualifying heats with eighth-grader Sarah Craig and seventh-grader Katie Donahue, both qualifying first.
On the boys’ side, eighth-grader Zach Morton finished first to secure a No. 1 seed in his division.
The Corona del Mar trio will enter the finals competition against Ensign, Dwyer, Sowers, Tewinkle, Costa Mesa, and Harbor Day.
