Newport Beach resident Elaine Linhoff will be honored Saturday for her environmental work by Stop Polluting Our Newport. The activist group will give Linhoff its annual Robinson Environmental Award, named for Frank and Fran Robinson, who are credited with saving the Upper Newport Bay from development.
Past recipients of the award, which is about 10 years old, have fought for parks and open space, like Jean Watt and Jan Vandersloot, Beek said. A tree has been planted in Linhoff’s honor at Bonita Canyon Park, where the award will be presented at 10 a.m. Saturday.
