POLICE FILES - May 11, 2007

The following is from the daily log of the Laguna Beach Police Department from Wednesday, May 2, through Tuesday, May 8.

TUESDAY

Cliff Drive: At 2:04 p.m., a blue diaper bag, video player and credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1300 block.

Anita Street Beach: at 11:30 a.m., a man was reported exposing himself in the 1000 block of the beach.

Broadway: At 1:20 a.m., a San Clemente man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a traffic stop at Coast Highway.

MONDAY

Glenneyre Street: At 12:07 p.m., a vehicle was reported vandalized by being keyed and having holes punched in the tires in the 400 block.

So. Coast Highway: At 8:23 a.m., a $1,000 potted plant was reported thrown into the street in the 2000 block.

So. Coast Highway: At 8:15 a.m., a break-in was reported at a boutique, and the suspect, a man, fled in a minivan in the 1800 block.

SUNDAY

Wesley Drive: At 6:10 p.m., a purse was reported stolen after the back window of a vehicle broken while it was parked at a preschool in the 21000 block.

Laguna Canyon Road: At 4:29 p.m., medical aid was provided after a traffic accident on Laguna Canyon Road two miles south of the 73 Toll Road.

Cypress Drive: At 3:05 p.m., a laptop was reported stolen from an unlocked car near Holly Street.

So. Crescent Bay Beach: At 3:12 p.m., a 20-year-old man was reported to be so drunk that he fell off a ramp and was in the water with his clothing on in the 1300 block of the beach.

So. Crescent Bay Beach: At 2:39 p.m. a baby sea lion was taken into custody in the 1300 block.

No. Coast Highway: At 11:57 a.m., a 37-year-old man was given medical aid after being reported in a semi-conscious state at a restaurant in the 300 block.

Woods Cove: At 12:56 p.m., a sick harbor seal pup was taken into custody after being discovered in Lover’s Cove in the 2000 block of the beach.

So. Coast Highway: At 11:14 a.m., a cash box with $30 was reported stolen overnight from a restaurant in the 500 block.

So. Coast Highway: At 1:58 a.m., a Laguna Beach man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the 1200 block.

SATURDAY

So. Coast Highway: At 11:26 p.m., a San Clemente woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI, after being stopped for allegedly going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone, at Thalia Street.

Coast Highway: At 8:09 p.m., a Long Beach resident was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a traffic stop in the 30900 block.

Wave Street: At 3:50 p.m., a man called for assistance because a large flame was coming out of his stove and he couldn’t turn it off in the 100 block.

No. Coast Highway: At 3:41 p.m., a Long Beach man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession after someone reported that he tried to take money in the 300 block.

Nyes Place: At 12:55 p.m., a lock box and furniture was reported stolen from a vacant house in the 700 block.

Main Beach: At 9 a.m., Friends of the Sea Lion were called to rescue a beached sea lion in the 100 block.

Dartmoor Street: At 9:20 a.m., the partially-eaten carcass of a large deer was reported in the 500 block.

Vista del Sol: At 2:52 a.m., a Santa Barbara woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a traffic stop at Coast Highway.

FRIDAY

So. Coast Highway: At 10:34 p.m. a person was arrested on suspicion of DUI, and taken to the hospital, after a traffic accident in the 1100 block.

Victory Walk: At 4:48 p.m., a diamond ring valued at $2,150 was reported stolen from a pickup truck parked in front a residence in the 1000 block.

Gaviota Drive: At 5:12 p.m., a dead sea lion was reported in the 1000 block of the beach.

Shaw’s Cove: At 2:40 p.m., someone was taken to South Coast Medical Center after requiring treatment in the 1000 block.

So. Coast Highway: At 11:55 a.m., an outside bench was reported broken in the 1000 block.

No. Coast Highway: At 12:42 p.m., a rabbit was reported in a gallery, and was taken into custody, in the 300 block.

So. Coast Highway: At 10:58 a.m., copper downspouts were reported stolen over the past few nights from a commercial complex in the 1200 block.

Jasmine Street: At 6:11 a.m., a Laguna Beach man was arrested on suspicion of DUI at Monterey Drive.

Glenneyre Street: At 2:24 a.m., a Washington man was arrested on suspicion of DUI at St. Ann’s Drive.

Coast Highway: At 12:53 a.m., a Lakewood man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the 31000 block.

THURSDAY

Forest Avenue: At 7:36 p.m., two men and a woman were cited after allegedly drinking beer from coffee cups in the 300 block.

Ocean Avenue: At 1:02 a.m., a purse was reported stolen from a bar in the 200 block.

WEDNESDAY

So. Coast Highway: At 8:57 p.m., a Yorba Linda woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a traffic stop at Bluebird Canyon Drive.

Coast Highway: At 2:46 a.m., a San Clemente man was arrested on suspicion of DUI at Vista del Sol.
