OCTA services to continue after judge bars injunction

Orange County Transportation Authority bus services will continue, after an Orange County Superior Court judge on Monday granted an injunction that bars a strike by workers or lockout by the employer. More than 1,100 drivers, who belong to Teamsters Local 952, threatened a strike last week over a contract dispute with the transportation authority.
Gov. Schwarzenegger asked for the court injunction to give time for a cooling-off period, which will last through midnight July 6, said Sabrina Lockhart, a spokeswoman fort he governor’s office. “The governor saw the disruption of public transportation as a health and safety issue, and the courts agreed,” she said.
