SHORT TAKES:Former PBS station director appointed as VP for KOCE

Kurt Mische, a former director of development at a Las Vegas PBS station, has been appointed as KOCE-TV’s new vice president of advancement.

A 33-year veteran of commercial and public broadcasting, Mische will oversee fundraising, marketing and promotion for KOCE and oversee community relations and corporate giving. He earned his degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Ill.

“I am thrilled that Kurt is joining KOCE-TV and assuming this critical role to advance the future of this important community broadcasting institution,” KOCE President Mel Rogers said in a release. Mische “has a proven track record of success and is a long-time believer in public broadcasting, contributing not only as an executive, but also a member, donor and volunteer.”
