CDM WINS TITLE
The Corona del Mar Junior High seventh-grade boys are the Coastal Athletic League soccer champions, after beating Ensign, 2 to 1, in the league championship game on March 28.
CdM also won its semifinal game, against Costa Mesa, 3-1. The Sea Bees were undefeated for the season, with 25 goals scored and only four goals allowed.
The championship team consisted of Drew Blumenthal, Connor Morrill, Jedd Thayer, Alec Maxwell, Jake Maxwell, Spencer Christoff, Grady Howe, Ryan Delgado, Tanner Grandstaff, Kevin Gordinier, David Leguay, John Swigert, Dylan Gronnerud, Elliott Steele and Mazen Tarabah. The team was coached by Sol Campos. It was the first boys’ middle school soccer championship ever won by CdM.
