BOYS’ GOLF

Champions InvitationalINDIO — Andrew Skjonsby shot two-over-par 74 to finish eighth place out of 120 individuals in the two-day tournament hosted by La Quinta High at Terra Lago Golf Course Saturday.

Skjonsby shot 80, then 69 on Friday. The Sailors finished 12th out of 25 schools, Harbor Coach Scott Tarnow said. Chase Behr shot 76 Saturday, Bryce Greeley 77, Justin Morehead 80 and Dan Darnell 83. Murrieta Valley shot four-under 212 to win.

Newport Harbor plays against Los Alamitos at Old Ranch Country Club on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Mt. SAC RelaysWALNUT — Allison Stokke finished second in the pole vault with a clearance of 13 feet, 1 1/2 inches Saturday.

Laura Clayton came in second in the open division of the triple jump (37-1), Jessica Robson was third in the high jump (5-5), Taylor Bryson sixth in the 1,600 in 5 minutes, 5.14 seconds and Melissa Mead seventh in the 3,200 in 10:59.4.

BASEBALL

Beckman 10, Estancia 2Beckman 17, Estancia 13IRVINE — Trevor McDonald, Tim Morley and Sam Trancoso each had four hits in the nightcap of the nonleague doubleheader at Beckman Saturday.

McDonald, Morley, Trancoso and Eddie Tomasek had two RBIs each in the 17-13 loss, while Blake Pinto, Ryan Redding, Sean Ulrich and Tomasek produced two hits each in the game. Pinto also had two hits in the first game and Morley two RBIs.

Newport Harbor 10, Marina 3NEWPORT BEACH — Cory Ames, who returned from a broken wrist he suffered in the first game of the season, scored three goals in the Sunset League win Friday.

Eric Dobson added two goals and two assists, while Tommy Hanrahan and Ryan Hanrahan had two goals each for the Sailors (6-3, 4-1 in league). Zach Gagnon scored four goals in Harbor’s 12-7 nonleague win over Santa Margarita Thursday.
