Huntington Beach residents and eighth-grade students Danie Diamond and Andrew Kurzweil from the Pegasus School are regional winners in the 7th to 9th-grade category of the Toshiba/National Science Teachers Assn.’s Explora Vision Awards.

The award is given for the team that imagines technology that could exist 20 years in the future.

Danie and Andrew’s winning proposal was “A Splash of Color,” an eye drop that could correct colorblindness.

The next step in the contest is for the students to design working websites to showcase their ideas.

Eight finalist teams will be selected in May and will travel to Washington, D.C., in June for the Explora Vision Gala Awards Weekend.
